About us

This site is operated by Families of Smithville Road, Inc. (“FOSR”), a Maryland nonprofit organization working to preserve the history, churches, cemeteries, and families of the historic 19th-century African American community on Smithville Road in Dorchester County, Maryland.

Text, photographs, historical research, and other materials on this site are owned by Families of Smithville Road, Inc. or used with permission. You may view and share links to the site freely. Please do not republish significant portions of our content, historical research, or photographs without written permission — we are glad to discuss it, just reach out.
